Gore & Physics

Procedural dismemberment

  • Slice through waist or shoulders
  • Sliced head causes NPC to stand 0.5s before falling
  • Arm sliced makes NPC grab the wound with their other hand
  • Partial cuts can be pushed through with enough force

Crawling when legs are dismembered

  • Pull yourself along the ground when a leg is shot off
  • Syringe heals damage, second syringe at full health regenerates a limb (legs prioritised)

Exit wounds

Better gore

  • Blown limbs and heads keep partial parts on the neck or stump
  • Similar to the Bonelab bonetrail mod

Blood stains your clothes

Combat

Choking

Ability to blind enemies

  • Sucker punch someone in the eye to swell it shut and block their vision
  • Flashbangs would tie into this system

Break arms and snap necks in multiplayer

  • Fractured arm makes it harder to hold and pick up items
  • After 5 seconds the hand opens and drops whatever is held

Multiplayer physics

  • Breaking bones, chopping and other physics interactions should work on other players

Better recoil

  • Shooting a sniper one-handed should dislocate your arm and send it flying

Make stabbing easier

  • Slowly pushing a blade into an NPC currently does not register

Add melee NPCs

Traps & Gadgets

Traps and tripwires

  • Landmine: steps on, detonates on release. Slide an object onto it to prevent detonation
  • Bear trap: snaps the limb, must be opened manually, can be chained. Bleeds heavily when removed
  • Claymore: walks in front triggers shrapnel explosion
  • Spike plate: pressure plate that impales the foot, doubles as a wall trap for arenas
  • Gas mine: poison or smoke on trigger. Obscures vision, causes coughing, drains health
  • Remote C4: sticky explosive with a handheld detonator. Does not explode when shot unless the detonator inside is hit
  • Barbed wire: slows movement, cuts, makes noise. Can be wrapped around weapons for bonus damage
  • Tripwires: cross a threshold to trigger a connected trap. Physics-based so the wire actually pulls against you

  • Frag grenades, flashbangs and fire grenades
  • C4 with a remote detonator that triggers all placed charges at once

Stick deadzone setting

  • Tired of accidentally standing up from crouch
  • Option to disable auto-grab within close range of the hand

Valve Index finger tracking

  • Interactions feel off when only one finger triggers a grab

Immersion

Tactical gear system

  • Physically equip helmets, NVGs, vests and headsets instead of menus
  • Flip-down night vision goggles with limited grainy view
  • Proximity voice chat with directional audio and push-to-talk radio
  • Grab magazines and reload manually from vest pouches
  • Heavier loadouts reduce speed and stamina, armor plates degrade over time

More sound variety

  • Punching, bone breaking and stabbing reuse the same sounds
  • More variety would greatly improve feel
